Paramedics dealing with a 'life-threatening situation' were shocked to find a note left on their ambulance reading: 'Blocking path - why?'.

The note, which was left on a West Midlands Ambulance Service vehicle in Stafford earlier this week, was on the windscreen.

The patient who the ambulance service were dealing with was taken on blue-lights to hospital.

"Sometimes with patients who have life threatening conditions, we have to block roads and generally park in unusual ways.

"We always try not to but at the end of the day we need to put lives first. "Apologies if we cause any inconvenience."

In February last year, Kirsty Sharman from Tunstall was fined after she left a note on an ambulance as well as shouting abuse at a paramedic.

The note said: “I could not give a s*** if the whole street collapsed. Now move your van from outside my house.”

Sharman was fined £120 and ordered to pay £135 costs and a £30 surcharge.
