Appeal to trace family of man found in Walton Dam

Police in Derbyshire are trying to find the family of a man whose body was recovered from waters in Chesterfield yesterday afternoon (20 August).

Officer have been unable to identify the man and are appealing for information.

Emergency services were called to Walton Dam just after12.30pm after a member of the public spotted what appeared to be a body in the water.

The body was recovered but we have been unable to establish the identity of the man. We are now turning to the public for help in finding out who he is.

He is described as white, in his late 60s or early 70s, of slim build and with thinning grey hair. He was wearing a turquoise/green collared polo shirt, black trousers and brown leather slip-on shoes.

Anyone who may be able to help should call us on 101 and quote incident 514 of 20 August.
