Pensioner suffers broken arm after mugger makes off with her handbag

This is the shocking moment a 79-year-old woman was violently dragged to the floor in a mugging.

The pensioner was left with a broken arm after the man ran off with her handbag in St Theresa's Close, Kettering, between 3.20pm and 3.50pm on Sunday (8 September).

Two 31-year-old men were arrested in connection with the offence have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police are appealing for information to identify a mugger who was caught on CCTV.

"Many people will be shocked by the CCTV footage we have released today and rightly so.

"This lady, like everyone else, should be able to go about her business and feel safe. Her attacker has taken that feeling of safety away from her and it is imperative that he is identified and brought to justice.
