A prison officer has been taken to hospital after a disturbance at a high security prison in Worcestershire.
Specialist staff were deployed to manage the situation at HMP Long Lartin late last night (24 September).
The Ministry of Justice said around 20 prisoners were involved in the incident.
One prison officer was taken to hospital with a minor injury, but has now returned home.
No prisoners were injured.
“Our highly-skilled staff successfully resolved an incident at HMP Long Lartin early on Wednesday morning.
The POA Union said on Twitter that it was supporting its members at the jail near Evesham, who were facing a 'difficult evening'.
