The Health Secretary has said he does not want to see A&E facilities in Telford closed down.
Matt Hancock said he is making a big investment in Shropshire and is also pledging £4m for this year to improve facilities.
He added Telford would receive a new 20 bedded ward as part of the investment.
In January health bosses met in public to vote on a proposal called Future Fit.
The plan would see the county's emergency care move to the Royal Shrewsbury only - with the Princess Royal becoming a planned care only site.
Following the vote, demonstrators held a rally close to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford with a clear message of 'save our A&E'.
The people of Telford have said their town needs its A&E .
The leader of Telford and Wrekin Council says the A&E local won't be as good as what the people of Telford already have.
Cllr Shaun Davis wrote a letter to the Prime Minister to voice his many concerns.
