ITV News Central has launched a new digital service which will air during the General Election campaign.

60 Sec Elec will round up the biggest Midlands political stories of the day in one minute, providing an evening briefing for people on the go.

It will publish every weekday evening up until the General Election on December 12th.

For the second time this week the Prime Minister is in the Midlands - this time promising a clean energy revolution.

The Tory leader gave his keynote speech at an electric vehicle manufacturer in the West Midlands. Speaking about electric vehicles and green energy he said "we are seeing a new industrial revolution, a green industrial revolution, creating thousands of environmentally sustainable technologies and thousands of jobs".

The estranged wife of Andrew Griffiths, the former MP who was found to have sent thousand of sexual messages to two women, has been chosen to take his seat.

Griffiths was MP for Burton for nine years but have now retired from frontline politics. Kate Griffiths says she is divorcing her husband and will not accept political support from him.

The future of the NHS will be one of the key battlegrounds of the 2019 General Election.

Labour has set out a “rescue plan” if it wins power that will involve a £26 billion cash injection, raised through taxes, whilst The Tories have pledged to deliver 50 million more GP appointments by 2024-25.
