A 20-year-old man has undergone emergency surgery after being stabbed in Birmingham city centre. Officers were called to reports of an attack at 6.40pm, and found the man lying next to Subway on Jennens Road.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital. His injuries are deemed to be serious, but not life-threatening.
Officers were at the scene this morning carrying out inquires. Neighbourhood officers are also in the area providing reassurance to local people and businesses.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
