An appeal is underway to bring an anti-knife sculpture to Telford.

The Knife Angel is made from 100,000 bladed weapons handed in to police forces across the country. It's been on tour on various locations across the country as teams work to spread the anti-knife crime message.

The sculpture was created by artist Alfie Bradley, and was commissioned by the British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry in Shropshire.

It was last in the Midlands in Derby in October last year.

"While in Telford we expect it to be seen by tens of thousands of people.

_There are some areas we still need some help with, like infrastructure, security, printing and signage. If you think you can help sponsor the Knife Angel in Telford, please contact Jodie on 01952 380982 or email Jodie.Lloyd@telford.gov.uk". _

The Knife Angel was last in the Midlands in Derby in October last year.

More than 125,000 people visited it there and a thousand people left anti-knife crime messages.

Teams say around five hundred young people there have since been educated about the dangers of carrying a bladed weapon.
