16-year-boy to face trial after denying terror charges

A 16-year-old will face trial after denying terror charges.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to six counts of possessing a document or record containing information likely to be useful to a terrorist.

The possession offences, alleged to have been committed between April and September last year, relate to electronic publications concerning homemade firearms and ammunition.

He also denies making preparations for terrorist acts between July 20and September 3 2019.

Appearing at Birmingham Crown Court today (23 January) the boy only spoke to confirm his pleas, date-of-birth and nationality.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear at court for a four-week trial which is expected to begin on February 24.
