A woman has been jailed for murdering her husband after an alcohol-fuelled row.
Deborah Carroll, 53, stabbed John Carroll, 52, in the chest in the early hours of 2 April last year.
John had been out drinking with a friend and returned home to Alwold Court, Barnes Hill in Birmingham to continue drinking.
The 53-year-old joined in the drinking, with John and his friend.
A court heard how row between Deborah and her 52-year-old partner erupted over 'something trivial'.
Without warning Deborah grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband as he sat on a chair.
He later died in hospital.
Appearing at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday (24 January) Deborah was sentenced to life in prison.
She will not be eligible to apply for parole for 10 years.
This is a very tragic case where an alcohol-fuelled domestic dispute got out of hand and resulted in a violent attack leaving Mr Carroll with fatal injuries.
