A Staffordshire nurse has posted a photo of an expletive-ridden letter that was left on her car windscreen overnight.
It said: "How ****** stupid and dangerous parking here do it again you will be sorry!!!!!"
The nurse, who works at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, found the letter pinned underneath her windscreen wiper the next morning - as she was leaving to go on another shift.
The NHS worker says she had completed a 12-hour shift the night before and couldn’t find any parking on her street.
She says it’s because no-one on the road had moved their car due to the government lockdown.
The nurse also posted a picture of her response:
"Whilst most people were out clapping for the NHS, you were writing this. I am a nurse and working long hours in this very stressful time.
She finished by adding the hashtag #bekind.
She posted her response through several letterboxes on her street.
Her neighbours have come out in support.
Zoe Lynch, who also had a copy of the abusive note put through her letter box, said:
With everything that's going on right now, this is appalling...To have this put on this wonderful nurse's car when she got home from looking after people just blows my mind."
Another neighbour said:
This is despicable. For someone to put this note on a hard-working member of the NHS who is already under a lot of stress working 10 or more hours a day then coming home and can't even get anywhere near her home...Please can people think before they write such threatening notes."
It is tonight parked safely and securely. I don’t know if she or he will read this or not, but if you do, rest assured that you do have some friends in your neighbours in the street."
