Two lorry trailers containing more than £10,000 of toilet roll have been stolen from a depot.

The sought-after stock was to be sent to supermarkets across the country.

Steve Tate, operations manager for MT Globex in Walsall, said burglars struck the business between 1am and 1.30am on March 20.

The gang also stole CCTV recording equipment in a bid to hide their identity during the heist.

Mr Tate said:

"It will take at least a week for us to make the stock back up.

Both the trailers have since been recovered – including one in Shaw Street, West Bromwich, which was emptied of its contents.

A £500 cash reward has been put on offer for any information which leads to the return of the trailer.

West Midlands Police has been contacted for comment.
