Karl Gallagher, 31, died from a single stab wound to the chest in the car park at the West Cross Shopping Centre at around 4.40pm on Sunday (April 26).
An air ambulance was called but he died at the scene. He leaves behind a daughter.
Tyrell Harris, 19, was remanded in custody and will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates tomorrow (30 April).
Three other men were arrested on suspicion of murder but have been released on bail as the investigation continues.
While three men arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released pending investigation, as has a man arrested on suspicion of obstructing police.
Officers have been examining CCTV and mobile phone footage from the scene, some of which has been widely shared on social media.
They ask people not to share on social media as this could prejudice future proceedings.
Anyone who does share it risks committing a criminal offence.
