Birmingham woman charged with murder after human remains found in suitcase

A 27-year-old woman from Birmingham has been charged with murder following the discovery of human remains in two suitcases.Gareeca Conita Gordon will appear before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court accused of killing the woman on or before May 12 2020.

Gloucestershire Police said 38-year-old Mahesh Sorathiya, 38, of Denmore Gardens in Wolverhampton, has been charged with assisting an offender and would be appearing alongside Gordon in court.

Human remains were found close to a quarry, near Coleford in the Forest of Dean, on Tuesday night after a member of the public reported a vehicle being driven erratically to the police.

The vehicle was found a short while later and two people were spoken to byofficers, leading to the discovery of two suitcases containing human remains.

Gloucestershire Police said officers are awaiting results of DNA tests toestablish the identity of the victim.
