The father of a six-year-old boy, and his partner, have been charged over his death.
Six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes was found unresponsive when police officers were called to a house in Solihull on Tuesday (16 June).
He was taken to hospital where he died the following morning.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Friday revealed he died from a head injury.
Arthur’s father, 27-year-old Thomas Hughes, and his partner, 31-year-old Emma Tustin, both from Cranmore Road in Shirley, were arrested on Tuesday and have now been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.
They will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday (22 June).
Arthur’s death is deeply distressing and we have specialist officers with his family as they grieve his loss.
