A woman from Nottingham has been left distraught after two buddha statues containing her father's ashes were stolen from her memorial garden.

The NHS worker from Wilford woke up to find that the statues, gifted to her by her late father, had disappeared from her garden on Maplestead Avenue.

Nottinghamshire Police say the incident took place on Tuesday June 23, at around 3.15am.

Her father was just 61-years-old when he passed away from cancer.

The 48-year-old woman is now desperate to have her items returned to her.

My father brought them for me over 15 years ago, they aren't worth anything, but after he passed away in 2016 I had some ashes placed in one of them and had it as a garden memorial piece.

The mother of three says she feels "gutted" that the statues have now gone and is urging anyone who sees them being sold or recognises them to contact the police.

After speaking to local residents and getting hold of CCTV footage, officers are keen to speak to this man pictured in connection with the incident:
