74-year-old man breaks world record by balancing trolleys on his head

Strongman who's 74-years-old balances trolleys on his head for charity

A 74-year-old man has broken another record and has become the first person in the world to balance 16 supermarket trolleys on his head - each weighing more than 63kg.

John Evans, who is from Long Eaton, has helped to raise more than £250,000 for charity over the past 30 years.

He has done this by carrying out some stomach-churning stunts, balancing all kinds of things on his head.

He even got a chimney in the balancing mix too and he said his age is not going to stop him doing more.

Mr Evans told ITV News Central: "I'm 74 now and feel as strong as ever and although I'm 74 there is nobody in the world that can do what I can do."

He added: "I don't really want to give it up and why I've got the strength and power in my fantastically strong neck.

"I'm going to carry on and carry on and I enjoy doing charity shows and raising money for other people as well."

The challenge comes three years after Mr Evans walked with 1,000 tins of pet food on his head, in aid of the animal charity PDSA.
