Thousands due to fly from East Midlands Airport this Easter
East Midlands Airport is expected to deal with more than 166,000 passengers through its terminals this weekend.
These passengers are waiting to fly out to Lanzarote. A record number of people are estimated to be heading of the sunshine this Easter weekend to escape the freezing weather for sunnier times.
60,000 to travel through East Midlands Airport over Easter
Around 60,000 passengers are expected to travel through East Midlands Airport between now and next Tuesday for the Easter getaway.
The busiest day will be Easter Sunday with more than 12,000 people travelling throughout the day, a 33% increase in departing passengers compared to the same time last Sunday (24th March).
