An MP says more must be done about the overcrowding of sex offenders at Birmingham Prison.
Khalid Mahmood visited staff and inmates after a critical report a year after the private security firm G4S took over. They were criticised for failing to keep sex offenders apart from other inmates.
The report also cited problems with rats in the kitchen. G4S told Central Tonight action has already been taken to address many of the issues.
Four staff have been injured in an altercation with an inmate at the G4S-run Birmingham Prison.
G4S has confirmed two staff suffered serious cuts and all four were taken to hospital for treatment.
It happened yesterday morning (7 November).
