More than two hundred employees at a General Electric site in Kidsgrove could face losing their jobs after the company said its decision to move forward with the closure of the site will go ahead.

232 employees will be impacted by the closure of the plant by the end of March 2017.

A spokesperson has said:

We are committed to our customers and are working to ensure there will be no disruption to production deliveries and service support now and in the future.

Employees are the heart of our business, and we recognise this is difficult for our workers and their families."
