Police investigating a serious sexual assault in Lenton have released photos of items of clothing the victim was wearing when it took place.

It's hope the images of a pair of multi-coloured checked shorts and a blue vest top will help potential witnesses to come forward.

The assault on a 22-year-old white female happened some time between 10pm and 12 midnight on Monday 6 June 2016 in an area off Derby Road.

There have not yet been any arrests over the assault.

Police believe the attack may have taken place in the vicinity of Gloucester Avenue, Henry Road and Devonshire Promenade.

Leaflets with pictures of the clothing are being distributed during house-to-house enquiries in that area.
