Two men have died following a car accident in Brierley Hill just before midnight last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Brettell Lane in Brierley Hill at 11.59pm yesterday to reports of a collision between a car and a wall.

Two ambulances, a community paramedic, a MERIT trauma doctor and advanced paramedic attended but neither of the men could be saved.

“Sadly, upon arrival, it quickly became apparent to ambulance staff that nothing could be done to save one man in the car and he was confirmed dead.

“The second occupant, a man, sustained multiple serious injuries and was trapped. Once extricated from the car, his condition rapidly deteriorated at the roadside and despite advanced life support by the team of ambulance staff the man couldn’t be saved and he was also confirmed dead.”

West Bromwich man killed in tree collision named by police

A man who died in in a collision in West Bromwich earlier this week has been named by police.

Tarvinder Singh, 42, from West Bromwich died after his Mercedes Sprinter van hit a tree on Wiltshire Road on Monday night.

The father of two was thought to have been on his way home from work when his car collided with a tree.

Police are urging anyone who saw the collision to come forward with information.

Family pays tribute to teenager killed on A38

The parents of a teenager from Burton who died after being hit by a lorry on the A38 have released an emotional statement following her death last Thursday.

17-year-old Helena Markey from the Belvedere area of Burton was struck by a lorry on the A38 northbound carriage, between Branston and Clay Mills.

She sustained critical injuries and was taken to hospital in an air ambulance but died shortly after.

"The sudden loss of Helena has left us totally devastated; no words could ever describe the hurt and emptiness we feel right now. Helena was a beautiful much loved daughter and was held precious in many, many people’s hearts."

"She was a bright, bubbly young girl with a beautiful smile. A million questions later, there are no answers, just total disbelief. We must all try to move on and accept what has happened, no matter how hard that may be."

"We just ask that people honour Helena in their memories and grant her the dignity and respect she so fully deserves."
