Elderly Woman Held Hostage

A man's been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment after an elderly woman was held hostage for more than 28 hours in Oldbury.

Police confirm siege in Oldbury has ended

Police have confirmed the man came out of the house shortly after 11.00am. He was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment.

The woman is being assessed by medical professionals at the scene but she is not believed to be seriously injured.

Speaking after the incident came to an end, Assistant Chief Constable Sharon Rowe said,

"I would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding whilst we worked to bring this to a peaceful conclusion."
