A £2.5 million pound project will see a colony of Gentoo penguins move in to a specialised enclosure at the SeaLife centre in Birmingham. The new enclosure will be home to the penguins from next Easter .

Gentoo penguins are normally found in the Antarctic and their new enclosure will try to reproduce the conditions found there. Some of the £2.5 million pounds is going towards the creation of several viewing platforms and a controlled visiting area where temperatures will stay around 8C.
