Vigil for two Midlands soldiers killed in helicopter crash

Prayers will be said at a vigil for two RAF officers from the Midlands who were among five soldiers killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

Flight Lieutenant Rakesh Chauhan from Birmingham and Lance Corporal Oliver Thomas from Hereford will be remembered at a multi-faith vigil at the Shree Sanatan Mandir.

Kishor Chauhan, Flight Lieutenant Rakesh Chauhan's father, has described his son in an emotional interview as "extremely active, charismatic, charming and very witty".

The Ministry of Defence say the crash was a tragic accident.
