In a cruel twist, by Shrewsbury Town beating Cheltenham this afternoon in League Two, the winners were promoted, and the losers dumped out of the football league.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro earned Shrewsbury automatic promotion but sentenced Cheltenham to relegation.

The striker struck the decisive goal in the 20th minute with a deflected effort which gave Trevor Carson no chance.
