PCSO suspended after alleged assault on child

A Derby-based police community support officer has been suspended from duty after an alleged assault on an eight-year-old child near a school.

PCSO Bakhtawar Rana is alleged to have committed the offence in the city last March.

Derbyshire Constabulary can confirm that PCSO Bakhtawar Rana has been served with a summons to appear at Chesterfield Magistrates' Court on September 29 to face a charge of common assault.

The charge relates to an alleged assault on an eight-year-old child on Reginald Street in Pear Tree in March 2015.
