Junior Doctors across the Midlands to go on strike today

Hospital patients are being warned to expect increased pressure on services as hundreds of doctors across the region go on strike.

Hospital operations and procedures have been cancelled, and patients have been urged to utilise other NHS services where possible during the 24-hour walkout, which begins at 8am.

Talks last week between the British Medical Association (BMA) and NHS Employers were "constructive" but did not reach a deal.
