The jewellers who lent the earrings to Julie Walters has released a statement after the stray earring was returned to them.

A spokesperson from Star Diamond London said:

“Julie was awarded one of the first awards of the evening last night and as she got out of her seat to go on stage, predictably there was a lot of hugging and celebrating.

"As she was leaving her seat to go up for the awards, one of her earrings was knocked out of her ear. The earrings themselves have a price of £150,000.

"They are called our “Diamond Leaf Earrings” and have just over 22 carats altogether, set in purple titanium and 18 karat white gold.

"We were all relieved that she was able to find it and that it was returned safely to Star Diamond.”
