Three people have been fined a total of more than £2,000 for dropping litter and failing to pay fixed penalty notices issued by Mansfield District Council.

Another man from Mansfield, 19 year-old Daniel Limer was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs totalling 258.40 for littering on Nottingham Road in Mansfield.
Mansfield District Council Portfolio Holder for Public Protection Coun Mick Barton said: "I hope these court cases will send a clear message to people that as a council we mean business when we say we will not tolerate people dropping litter in Mansfield.
"These three offenders could have simply paid their Fixed Penalty Notice of £75 but instead they have chosen to ignore these notices and are now having to pay the full cost of that."
