London Midland trains are still operating a reduced service into London Euston today, and potentially throughout the weekend, after a landslip yesterday.
A London Midland train hit the landslip, caused by torrential rain, on Friday morning and the train derailed at Watford Junction. The 06:19 from Milton Keynes Central to London Euston, remained upright but came into contact with the 06:34 Euston to Birmingham New Street service inside Watford tunnel.
This morning London Midland has told ITV News Central that two of four tracks through Watford are still closed, which will result in a reduced service. Journeys may take longer and passengers are advised to check before they travel.
The incident has caused major delays for passengers using London Midland services to or from London Euston.
London Midland is warning passengers to expect disruption for the rest of the day and into the weekend after a train derailed.
