Former Nottingham Forest player Stan Collymore has pledged to support fans at a protest being organised this afternoon before the match against Bristol City.

Fans are angry that a takeover deal has fallen through after weeks of talks.

The club are currently without a manager, and last night their captain Henri Lansbury signed for Aston Villa.

The owner has written to fans saying,

Nottingham Forest is one of the world’s oldest surviving teams. This is a legacy worth defending, and our priority should be to build on this unique heritage to protect the future of our club.

– FAWAZ AL HASAWI, NOTTINGHAM FOREST OWNER & CHAIRMAN
