It's been revealed that Derby will host the opening game of this summer's Women's Cricket World Cup.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club will host eight matches in total, including one semi final. The first fixture will take place on the first day of the tournament on the 24th June.

Here are the fixtures in Derby:

  • Saturday 24 June
  • Wednesday 28 June
  • Sunday 2 July
  • Wednesday 5 July
  • Sunday 9 July
  • Wednesday 12 July
  • Saturday 15 July
  • Thursday 20 July (semi-final)

In total, the Club will host eight games with a number of them televised, which will give us the opportunity to showcase the city and wider county to a global audience.

A huge amount of work went into our bid which focused on why Derby is ideally placed to take its spot on the global sporting stage. We’re very grateful for the support we have received from local cricket clubs and to the businesses who backed our bid.
