Man hit by car airlifted to hospital

A man has been airlifted to hospital after he was hit by a car in Stafford.

The accident happened on the junction of Crooked Bridge Road and Prospect Road yesterday afternoon (13 June).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

The cyclist, a man, was initially trapped underneath the car and, once freed, ambulance staff were able to fully assess his condition.

The man had suffered multiple injuries which required advanced trauma care by the doctor and ambulance staff at the roadside.

The man is reportedly in a stable condition and was taken to a specialist major trauma centre Royal Stoke University Hospital.
