A coroner has rule that an 85-year-old car passenger, fatally injured during Storm Doris after a tree fell on the vehicle, died accidentally.

Alan Edward Green died in hospital in Stoke-on-Trent three days after the incident on the A49 northbound near Church Stretton, Shropshire, on February 23.

The retired decorator from Craven Arms was a front seat passenger when the car was hit shortly before 9.30am on February 23.

The cause of death was given as ventilator-assisted bronchopeumonia, caused by chest trauma, with coronary artery atheroma as a contributing factor.
