Warning River Trent quarry could permanently damage wildlife

Residents living near the proposed site of a sand and gravel quarry by the River Trent say they'll do everything they can to stop the plans.

Thousands of tonnes of material could be taken in phases over 15 years on land near the village of Barton-in-Fabis and opposite Attenborough Nature Reserve.

Campaigners say it'll ruin the area and wildlife, but developers say the minerals are essential for construction across Nottinghamshire. Chris Halpin reports.
