Guernsey Heritage exhibition on La Vallette bathing pools

Parts of the exhibition Photo: ITV

La Vallette bathing pools in Guernsey are featuring in a special heritage exhibition.

Volunteers have been working throughout the winter to restore the once popular pools to their former glory.

The changing rooms have been renovated and fitted with hot running water for the first time.

The exhibition looks at the pools history, from their Victorian beginnings to their recent upgrade.

It is uncovering some really interesting little gems that have been lost or hidden away for years. There is a story that Monet himself actually visited the pools during the 19th century when Victor Hugo was here. He was a regular swimmer at the pools as well so the area is absolutely steeped in history.

The exhibition is free to see at La Vallette Bathing Pools in St Peter Port.
