Jerseys fell silent to remember Armistice Day

Crosses were planted with the names of islanders who have lost their lives

Islanders of all ages fell silent at 11am this morning to remember Armistice Day.

Politicians and veterans gathered at the Cenotaph in St Helier where flags were lowered.

Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst attended the memorial

At Le Rocquier School young cadets and scouts heard the First Post, played by a pupil.

In Flanders Fields, a war poem written in WWI, was also recited.
