Mental health tips and support to help cope at the start of a New Year


While the start of a New Year can be a positive thing, for many people it can have a damaging impact on their mental well being.

Mental health charity Mind is urging islanders who are struggling to seek help.

You can find information on support available across the Channel Islands here.

Mind also have plenty of tips on how to cope on a day to day basis.

They include:

  • Eating healthily to encourage clearer thinking and increased energy levels
  • Practising mindfullness, a technique to help manage mental health and gain more enjoyment from life.
  • Being more active, which can benefit mental health
  • Relaxation exercises, which are particularly helpful when feeling stressed
