Jersey's women's football team will play a prestigious friendly game against Sheffield United Ladies at Bramall Lane next month.

The Caesareans, who are preparing to defend their NatWest Island Games title In Gotland this summer, will travel to the home of the League One leaders on April 23rd.

The fixture will provide a tough test for Simon Petulla's side, taking on an outfit who play week in week out in the East Midlands League.

This is going to be an amazing experience to play the game at Bramall Lane as this is a stadium steeped in history. The chance to play at a professional stadium like this is going to be unbelievable, the girls don’t realise how lucky they are to have this opportunity. This will obviously be a very difficult game though, and we will need to be at our best all over the pitch if we are going to compete. The result is immaterial however, but the performance will be key in our preparation for Gotland.
