New Lieutenant Governor of Jersey sworn in

Jersey's new Lieutenant Governor was officially sworn in this morning.

Former head of the Royal Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, will act as the Queen's personal representative for the next five years.

Hundreds of dignitaries from across the Channel Islands attended the special ceremony at the Royal Court.

His Excellency is Jersey's 42nd Lieutenant Governor, after Sir John McColl who retired in November.

I am very conscious of the responsibility that Her Majesty has placed upon my shoulders but, with your help and guidance, I will do all that I can to meet the letter and spirit of my role here.
