Crowds queue outside Guernsey vinyl shop for 10th Record Store Day

Collectors in Guernsey packed out Vinyl Vaughn's today, to celebrate the 10th ever Record Store Day.

The event started in the USA ten years ago, and now sees hundreds of the UK’s independent record shops come together each year to mark the culture.

This is the first time in seven years it's been celebrated in Guernsey, and there were some exclusive limited edition vinyls on offer.

Shop owner, Vaughn Davies, explains "There are 21 record companies in the UK which produced limited edition vinyl for the occasion...if you're a collector it's very important that you get your hands on that golden copy."

Crowds were queuing outside from 7am enjoying free tea and coffee and bacon rolls, and the shop was full when it opened at 8am.

Vaughn says the shop has become "a hub" for people to "soak up the atmosphere", especially for younger people who have never experienced a real record shop.
