Chief Minister takes advice from UK in appointing Children's Commissioner

Expert advice from the UK will be used to appoint a Children's Commissioner for Jersey.

The job was created following the publication of the Care Inquiry report.

The Chief Minister has met with the Children's Commissioner for England to discuss the role and how best to find the right person for the job.

Learning from experience elsewhere is really really important. So it's being positive, it's being able to communicate effectively, it's being able to take people with you. I think we are really on the verge post the Care Inquiry of seeing fundamental important change to the way that we care for children in this island.
