Jersey Reds boss Harvey Biljon says his side showed “an abundance of character” to beat London Scottish 20-15 on Friday night and claim a crucial Championship win.
The Reds had lost their last four in the league going in to the clash at Stade Santander International, and started the night just one point above their opponents in tenth in the table.
Scottish scored two first-half tries to lead 12-6 at the break, but Jersey fought back with a Kieran Hardy score and a penalty try to go 20-12 up before digging deep to close out a nervy victory.
Biljon’s men travel to the league’s bottom-placed club, Rotherham Titans, next week.
Jersey have now won five games out of ten in league and cup this season, one more than at the same stage last year.
