Jersey and Guernsey could both be included in this year's national Maternity Unit Miracles awards, for the first time.

The awards are nominated based on the story of a birth that has happened in the past six years.

The aim of the awards is to recognise the team work and dedication of maternity healthcare professionals across Britain.

If islanders want to nominate their local teams, they can click here for more details.

The team in Jersey are highly-skilled, dedicated, committed and come to work every day to do their best for every mum and baby and, of course, the family, so to actually receive recognition of that work it's just amazing.
