Former Guernsey FC forward Ross Allen has signed for New Zealand Premiership side Team Wellington.

The Green Lions’ record goalscorer left the island at the end of last year and has settled in the capital after joining up with the champions for the last two seasons.

He could make his debut for the club in a televised league game at home against Hawke’s Bay United on Sunday.

Allen, who has been training with his new club for a month, will wear the number 19 shirt.

Team Wellington currently sit top of the ISPS Handa Premiership, level on points with Eastern Suburbs AFC.

They have seven games left of an 18-game season, which runs from October to March, and begin their OFC Champions League campaign next month.

We’ve got a game tomorrow so obviously I’m delighted that my clearance has come through on time. It's a great club to come on board with and I really enjoy living in Wellington. I've loved training over the past month and have embraced the challenges that joining a new club brings. All the players and coaches have been really welcoming and I've felt more and more comfortable with every training as I get my fitness back and sharpness up to speed. Hopefully I can get some minutes in the game tomorrow and help the team win 3 points.
