Concerns have been raised about the future of student financing following news that Jersey's Education Minister is stepping aside.

The Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel has released a statement outlining their concerns. They say no clear proposals have been received from Treasury following announcements during the Budget debate that they would foot the bill for student tuition fees.

Deputy Rod Bryans stepped aside yesterday following a complaint under the Code of Conduct.

The Panel say they have contacted Assistant Minister, Deputy Pryke, about the situation.

As Chairman of the Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel , with my team, we have be busy working behind the scenes given the news last night of the Education Minister 'stepping aside' following a complaint to the Commissioner for Standards.
