The Channel Islands are preparing for yet more freezing conditions, with up to 8cm of snow, heavy winds and ice set to hit the Bailiwicks overnight.

Schools across Jersey and Guernsey will be closed, while black ice could affect roads.

Airline Aurigny have cancelled their flights tomorrow morning, due to the severe weather conditions.

Passengers are able to book on to alternative flights up until Sunday or claim a refund.

Jersey's hospital is aiming to keep as many services running as normal, though outpatients appointments at Westmount and Overdale have been cancelled.

In Guernsey, Health and Social Care has made transport arrangements for staff during wintry conditions, to ensure services can continue.

St John Ambulance Service will help to provide transport for essential patients.

Police are urging people not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
