Guernsey athletes Sam Wallbridge and Tom Druce will not be competing in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
Hurdler Sam Wallbridge has had to withdraw due to an injury sustained at a training session on Monday.
He injured his collarbone whilst hurdling at Queensland Athletic Centre.
This now means the 400m hurdler will not compete for Guernsey in the Games, which begin on April 4.
As a result, Guernsey will now have to withdraw from the 4x400m men’s relay.
This means Tom Druce, who was due to be part of the relay team, will also be unable to compete.
The closing date for entries have now closed, so Guernsey is unable to replace the two teammates they lost.
Garry Collins, Team Leader, says Guernsey Athletics wish Wallbridge a speedy recovery.
