Jersey defender James Queree says winning the Muratti can be a springboard for the current side.

He was named man-of-the-match as they beat Guernsey 1-0 to lift the Vase for the third time in four years.

Jersey will try to defend that title next year and are set to compete in a tournament in Ynys Mon, which is a replacement for the Island Games.

We're aware of what we should have done in the past, at the Island Games and the County Cup, but today was one of those days and I think it's a great springboard for us going into next season. [Picking up the man-of-the-match] is a nice little touch, but at the same time it could have been one of eleven of us today. I think we all put in a performance where we all knew what we had to do, and we all carried out our jobs.
